Can a key fob disable a car alarm?
Yes, but this does not fully disable the alarm system. It basically tells me to unlock my Jeep if the alarm is going off. I don’t want it to arm every single time I lock my Jeep with the key fob. It wasn’t like this 4 days ago so I am very confused on how it was enabled. I don’t understand why you would want to permanently turn off the alarm.
How do I fully disable the alarm / theft system?
Using the fob to unlock the doors will disarm the system. If you unlock the driver’s door with the key and then re-lock it, the door will be locked but the alarm will not be armed. I have news for you – every time you lock the vehicle with the button on the door it also sets the alarm.
