What causes a jeep to get stuck in 4WD?
C1413. They said that message is for a faulty 4WD low switch. I don’t think it was that though because the differential was locked. I’d imagine something mechanical got stuck and I was just lucky it got unstuck. Anybody know what would get stuck mechanically that could have caused my problem?

I hate being in suspense on whether it’ll ever happen again. C1413 is for the hi/lo switch being stuck. This could certainly prevent the TC from shifting properly. It is likely a problem with the switch circuit, the switch itself, or the final drive control module.

I am having the following issue with my GC Overland 2015. Few weeks back ‘service 4WD’ started appearing when driving and 4WD was getting switched off – back to normal with engine off/on. Then I tried to put 4WD Low. I was able to do so but the car is now stuck in 4WD Low, unable to disengage 4wd low.
What to do when 4WD system won’t disengage?
Tried one last time rolling forward and it still wouldn’t disengage. I then turned the vehicle off and flipped the ignition 25+ times in attempt to reset the computer. Upon restarting the vehicle, I rolled forward in neutral at about 2mph and it finally disengaged 4 low, unlocked the differential and stopped displaying the Server 4wd System LED.

Can a Jeep Wrangler be put into Park?
Engineer 2 talks about an automatic, which Jeep says should be put into “Park” during flat-towing. But the same reasoning applies to the manual transmission: My understanding is that with the transfer case in neutral, the wheels will still drive the propshafts, but there will be no torque transfer to the transmission.
