Why does my Nissan 200SX lose power when the AC is on?
1988 Nissan 200SX (USA 240SX with 1.8L 170bhp turbo) also do this. It is controlled by a relay that the ECU switches off when it detects maximum power demand. As it costs a relay, a transistor in the ECU, some extra wiring and plugs, it may not be present on cars in markets where passenger comfort is placed above outright performance.
