Why does my Jaguar air conditioner keep leaking?
The wet foot wells etc are down to a blocked drain and does not affect the temperature output of the air con. Sounds like the system needs re-gassing. A good re-gas will check the system for leaks, clean it then re-gas it with the appropriate level of additives.
Why does my Jaguar XF not have aircon?
I had a problem with the AC on my old XF when the car was 7 years old. Took it to Kwik-Fit for a regas. But didn’t need it (turned out to be a failed DPS valve). They extracted 700g of gas . . . exactly what the stated charge should be! Yup, if the aircon system needs gas then it must have a leak. The leak needs to be fixed before re-gassing.
What kind of refrigerant does a Jaguar air conditioner use?
It does this by the use of the refrigerant chemical. In older cars, the chemical was R12 (freon). Since R12 contains chlorine and flourine, it damages the ozone layer and its production was banned. R12 has been replaced by R134a, which is more ozone-friendly since it doesn’t contain chlorine or flourine.
How often does the aircon go down in a Jaguar?
In theory the refrigerant should only go down around 5% a year so it might not be lack of refrigerant thats the issue, pressure sensor is a known issue and there is even a Jaguar bulletin about the sensor. https://www.cars.com/articles/2010-2016-jaguar-ac-issues-1420681139395/

How does the air conditioning work in a Jaguar?
The evaporator core absorbs heat from the inside of the car, sort of like a radiator in reverse. It does this when the blower fans blow warm air over the evaporator core. Once the system is in operation, the heat absorbed by the evaporator core is transferred to the refrigerant at the moment of evaporation.
Where is the drain in a Jaguar XK?
The drain is hidden under the dashboard at a position on the transmission tunnel which is just behind the touch screen. It drains excess water from the air-con at a position directly above the gearbox in the transmission tunnel. It is not possible to directly see it from above or below the car.
