Why does my front driver side wheel shake?
The most common reason for a car to shake is related to tires. If the tires are out of balance then the steering wheel can shake. Brand new 2011 Outback shouldn’t have problems with steering!!! Usually happens as I turn into my subdivision where there is a slight hill. The car shutters as you accelerate slowly. It also happens starting out from a stop. I first noticed shaking toward the right front side of my Outback at 55,000 miles, starting around 2,000rpm and or 20mph.

Shuddering when coming to a stop, backing up, or accelerating above 2000rpm from slower speeds. Replaced torque convertor for $1200. Mileage is now at 125k and problem is happening again. If this costs more than $500 to fix this time we’re scrapping the Subaru and going back to CR-V!!
Why does my car shake when I turn the wheel?
When pulling into a parking space, going forwards, the front wheels will start hopping and it sounds like it is grinding. In reverse the rear tires will spin and the fronts will hop a bit, but not much. I will see tonight if the problem occurs while stopped and just turning the wheel, or only while moving.
