I just fixed my daughter’s 2003 Grand Am GT. The problem is what looks like a relay mounted to the driver’s side fender wall. It’s located directly across from the air filter assembly. Pontiac has located this device there and all your major grounds join here.
Why does my Chevy 3.4 keep overheating?
This is not an awnser but i have had 7 chevys with the same problem. (that includes pontiac) the 3.4 and 3.1 have a disconnect from the temp switch to pcm or pcm to the relay.
Is the thermostat on my new car overheating?

What should I do if my car is overheating all the time?
If it gets hot at all times, then it may have a clogged radiator, or more commonly a leaking head gasket. I would perform a block test prior to changing anything else. If that fails the test, then the engine will need to be disassembled and repaired. If it passes, then it may need a radiator.
