Why does my car engine not Rev over 3000rpm?
If not perhaps worth to have it done and perhaps it solves the rev limiter type of issue. Not into wedge camshafts myself yet, but missing lobes can do funny stuff and this could be one of them. Pretty sure its not the camshaft as it was running perfectly then one day wouldn’t rev.
Can a 350i engine rev over 3000rpm?
Engine won’t rev over 3000rpm. Any ideas. My 350i wont rev past 3000rpm when I drive it but will rev freely when parked. Its like it has a rev limiter fitted.

My 307 1.6 hdi will not rev over 3000rpm, there are no fault codes showing and this is an intermitant fault keeps comming and going. Try the air flow mass meter. Common fault with contact terminal burning out. No air coming in engine goes into limp home.

Why does my RV8 engine stop at 3000 rpm?
It hasn’t been getting worse over a period of time it just stops at approx 3000 rpm and then you have to change gear and it accelerates fine until it hits 3000rpm again. Distributor and rotor combinations for RV8s are like a lottery. Had some issues tracking the right ignition parts down myself in the past.

No revs over 3k ???? must be a long distant cousin to VW …… sorry couldn’t resist ! It looks to have gone into safe mode, which keeps it below 3000 revs to prevent engine damage. I’m surprised there isn’t another fault code as low EGR flow should not trigger it, many people have theirs blocked off.
