My Bike started almost first time and runs well when Cold but has a slight rumble/misfire when warm and won’t hold revs at idle… many K bikes from the forum get some form of poor running from research so I thought I’d try and capture a few quick checks and easy things to try to remedy.

Why is my side stand not working on my BMW K?

Side-stand switch: Many a K bike owner has had problems with the sidestand switch. The switch is in the circuit for the fuel pump relay coil, and if the switch is not electrically closed, the fuel pump will not operate. Those of us with sidecar rigs simply remove the switch and join the wires.

If the rider fails to manually turn off the turn signals (called trafficators in U.K.) after a certain number of feet of travel or time, then turning off the turn signals is done by a combination function of the flasher relay & hazard circuit & the bulb monitor unit..while it has an interconnection, it is not a direct function of the BMU.
