Why does my bike stop after 20 minutes?
My bike will run for about 20 minutes or so, then start losing power and missing and sputtering. Then it stops. I wait 2 minutes, and it runs again for another 20 or so minutes. It’s not the fuel valve (tried normal and Reserve), and it’s not the plugs or wires (runs fine when running).
Why does my car run for 20 minutes and then stops?
It sounds like a fuel starvation problem caused by a partial vacuum in the fuel tank. This could be caused by a blocked/kinked vent hose somewhere. I would check it out by putting the spare key in the fuel cap and go for a ride.
Why does my ATV run for a few minutes then stall?
As the engine heats up the coil looses its resistance and fails to deliver the charge needed to start the engine. Without bombarding you with technical numbers or making you buy testing equipment, I would simply run the ATV until it dies and pull the plug.
Why does my car run fine when it’s cool?
The fuel system could be vapor locking or the fuel pump could be bad. It sounds more like a fuel pump issue since it runs fine when it is cool than when it heats up it sounds like the engine is starving for fuel. I always start looking for the cheaper fix than work up to the more expensive things.

Why does my car die after 20 minutes?
After driving for about 20 minutes, the engine will die while driving, and will not start back up until the next day. I have sat in the car for literally 4 hours patiently waiting for it to start. I’ll turn the key and the engine will rotate, but will not start. When someone shows up to give me a jump after the battery gets low, it will not start.

What happens when you run a car for 20 minutes?
When you run it for 20 minutes you use up all the fuel. Then when it sits for two minutes the bowls fill up again. On each carb float bowl (on the right side) there is a little allen screw. When it dies, try loosening the one on the right carb. Place a bowl under the carb to catch the fuel.
What should I do if my motorcycle won’t start?
How to fix it: There is only one fuse that can affect the starting of a motorcycle. Every motorcycle usually has a main fuse which is between 30 to 50 amps (occasionally some bikes will have 20 amps). It is usually located off of the positive battery wire.
What to do when your motor dies after running for 5 minutes or so?
On some bad coils, the machine gets great spark until it warms up and then the coil goes out until the engine has time to cool down. Fire it up and as soon as it dies, pull the plug and check for spark. If you don’t have any, you will probably have to replace the primary coil.
Why does my Honda Foreman die after 10 minutes?
See title: runs fine for about 10 minutes then starts cutting out, backfires, and dies. Let it sit a few minutes and it starts again…repeat. I think I’m narrowing it down to fuel delivery and/or exhaust leak.
What to do when your car sputters and stops?
When the power loss/sputtering kicks in open the fuel cap while still riding and if it recovers (by relieving the vacuum in the tank) then I would check the venting of the tank. If it doesn’t work at least you have eliminated one possibility.

Gas was drained and refilled with new – it was also clean. Engine runs for a few minutes (3 – 5). Then it sputters real bad — sounds like knocking. Then dies. Seems like it is getting worse. It doesn’t even run long enough for the engine to warm up. I replaced the fuel pump.
Why does my outboard start and run for 1 minute then dies?
Not open for further replies. My outboard did not start and did not have any spark/sometimes intermittent spark. So on a hunch i decided to replace power pack (used) and sure enough that fixed the problem. Now it starts, however, it only stays for about 1 minute then shuts off.

Why does my car quit running after 20 seconds?
Before applying oldturkey’s good suggestions, remove the gas cap and see if engine runs better/longer. If it does this signifies a plugged gas cap vent and is quite common. Dirt and dust can accumulate and eventually plug the vent hole in cap which will restrict fuel flow and can cause engine to quit. Good luck.

Why is my motorcycle not accelerating at high speeds?
More firing is performed at higher speeds whereas slower speeds have less firing. The engine timing is the mechanism that controls this. If you have poor timing advance, spark plug firing becomes delayed and isn’t timed right which will cause your motorcycle to not accelerate properly. This will probably be accompanied with some backfiring.
How many miles on a full tank of fuel?
My experience so far after 3 fill ups is about 139 – 143 miles on 10.00 litres or 2.2 gallons, which I am really pleased about. Some say you will only get around 100 miles if it’s all town riding, so if I do a lot of that this may change. Runs so far have included motorways, fast dual carriageways, A roads and town riding.

Thanks!
