Why does my air filter pop at idle?
I was driving it to get the air out of the oil. when it started to make a Loud popping out of the air filter. sounds just like the turbo fart sound But it does it all the time even sitting at idle. any ideas? has this happend to any one else? Does it have a skip? Sounds like an issue with an intake valve. You bent or other wise lost a pushrod.

Where is the thumping sound coming from the air box?
Wasn’t quite as loud as it normally was but you can hear it near the air box. Showed the blow by it has also, can’t really see it out of the dipstick but some does come out. Going to tack my recycling to the dump tomorrow and will see if I can get a better video.
Why is the pushrod coming out of my air filter?
You bent or other wise lost a pushrod. Very common when heads are off and reinstalled. Tappets expand, you install rockers with a piston at TDC and the valve hits piston and the pushrod is the weak member so it bends. Once you had everything together the tappets have bled down and when you start it the pushrod may be in there but it slips out.

Trucks an 06 2500 with EFI by Ryan, CAI, intake horn, and 5″ exhaust. A few weeks ago I noticed a “popping” sound in the exhaust and intake.
