Why are the warning lights on my Safari not working?
If you are getting spark from coil to distibutor but not to plugs, The suspect would be the cap and rotor or the plug wires. But, since there is no firing going on the wires are probably fine its got to be under the distibutor cap.
What was the problem with my 1993 Safari XLT?
Had similar problems, 1993 Safari XLT with 120k had stalling, low power, “Check Engine” light, etc. Had valve seals replaced twice due to smoking at start-up, and EGR continually clogged. Local mechanic, who works on several Safari/Astros did the following:
What should the compression be on a snowmobile engine?
The optimal compression is 120 psi (pounds per square inch) or greater. Anything below 110 could signal a potential issue, and an engine typically won’t run with much less than 100 psi compression. You also want to make sure the compression is equal in all cylinders.
What causes a car to not start with no spark?
Without spark, the engine will Crank but Not Start. The ignition system of the GM vehicles covered by this article use a distributor type system. In my experience, the most common component failures, of the ignition system that cause a No Start No Spark Condition are: Distributor cap. Crank sensor.

Why is my idle air control not working?
My Idle Air Control also responds accordingly by low counts when it runs good for 3 second and opens up when the engine is starting to stall and trying to keep it running . It dies anyway. I have new gasket on the base of the TBI assembly.
Can a bad timing chain cause an engine to misfire?
Engine misfires. The timing chain method is more common with consumer vehicles and high performance engines. Over a period of time, the timing chain can stretch, which can cause the chain to skip a gear on the cam or crank shaft. This results in the engine’s timing to fall out of calibration and often results in a misfire.
Why is my snowmobile engine not working properly?
Low Compression If your snowmobile is not as powerful as it once was or isn’t running at all and you’ve ruled out the other causes above, low compression could be the culprit. In this case, you want to perform a compression test on each cylinder in your machine’s engine.
