Why are the lights on my Mercedes not turning off?
Unless you found the trunk full of water, the seals are usually not the problem. The main culpret seems to be the drain hose opening on the right forward edge of the trunk opening that is supposed to catch the runoff from the roof. It gets plugged with debries and overflows.
