Why are the headlights not turning off in my Toyota Tundra?
Sounds to me like the relay is sticking. If it were a daytime running light issue, the lights should at least dim when the switch was turned off, and brighten when the switch was turned back on. If this happens, then pull the DRL fuse (under hood ) and confirm this allows the lights to switch off normally.

My 2002 camry lights turned off no matter if light switch was put on or auto Needs to be in the “auto” position I believe. Our 2002 didn’t have auto lights…just DRL or “on”. They might turn off after a while longer if you leave them on, but that 30 second interval is for the “auto” position.

If it’s dark enough to have the headlights on, they’ll be on in the auto setting…they come on at dusk at a pretty reasonable level. Try the auto setting for a few days rather than just leaving the lights on.

Why do parking lights stay on after ignition?
Problem is solved. I had simply *completely* forgotten about the stupid parking light switch on the steering column. One of the two places I took the car to today, the guy must’ve just flipped the switch on accident. So everybody completely ignore this thread, as I go off and hide my face in shame for being a total idiot.

Thanks for the replies. I tested it today doing the sequence of events as you guys suggested: Start with engine running and headlights and park lights on-> turn engine off -> remove key -> open and close driver’s door. And about 30 seconds later the headlights turned off by themselves. :clap:

If I open the door and have not turned the engine off as soon as the key is in the off position the lights will turn off. My Sienna is the same way as long as the key is on the lights are on but once the door is opne and the key is in the off position the lights turn off. Thanks for the replies.
