What to do if stop light comes on in Renault Megane?

What was the problem with my Renault Megane gearbox?
A gearbox sensor was at fault, and if your car is less than 4 years old,Renault will pay 50% of repair costs,as the gearbox has an extended part-warranty on it. My “error-service” light also came on,but now the gearbox seems fine. It cost me a £100 to get it fixed, (luckily it was still on a used car warranty, which reimbursed me!!)
