In California, it is illegal to put electronic equipment in the trash. Many electronic devices contain toxic chemicals that can leak from the landfill and contaminate groundwater and soil. Electronics can be recycled at your local household hazardous waste drop-off facility for free, or at participating stores.

Is there a charge for return-it express?
Sign up for free at return-it.ca/express. At the depot, use the kiosk monitor to login and print labels for your bags. Place your bag of beverage containers in the Express drop off area — no sorting is required. Your work is done!
Can you return cans in BC?
The deposit on empty pop can is doubling to 10 cents. According to Return-It, cans, bottles and other containers up to 1 litre in size containing soft drinks, juice, water, energy and sport drinks will now come with a 10-cent deposit as of Nov. 1.
