How do you drain oil from a gearbox?
Drain all the oil and place 3.5 litres in the gear box. There is a plug with a square hole that is the filler plug on top of the gear box. On the bottom of the gearbox there is a filler plug and if you look closely there is a hex head behind that. To drain the gearbox you must undo the outer hex head which is the drain plug/fluid level tube.

If it’s a 6 speed box then it’s 2.4 litres of oil,some will recommend genuine oil only,but if the box is emptied and flushed out then 75/80 fully synthetic will do the job fine. The square drive for the drain plug is 8mm in size. I’d rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW….
