How to keep my truck from overheating when towing?
The fan always pulls the coolant temps down but the intake air temps keep slowly rising. I have tried everything suggested and more. I am installing a auxiliary cooler and be done with it. At high loads, the radiator isn’t big enough and there isn’t enough room to install a bigger radiator.
Can a defective radiator cap cause engine to overheat?

When did my car overheat when AC was on?
Last June is when the overheating prob. began at 179k but after spending $ at different shop’s and them finding no real issue’s except to say it’s been a very hot summer I gave up, but it’s AC weather again and my temp gauge want’s to go 3/4 and I’m not dealing with this no more.
Why does my radiator heat up when the AC is off?
The condenser is mounted in front of the radiator and is cooled by the same air flowing through the radiator. When AC is off, the air hitting the rad is outside air temp, when the AC is on, the air hitting the rad has been warmed by the condenser and is now much hotter than the outside air. This is not usually a problem, if you have good air flow.
What to do if your Radiator is overheating?
You may be able to blow the debris out of the rad by blowing compressed air from the engine side. The fan clutch may be shot, or the temp sensor (that locks the fan clutch) may not be working correctly. Radiators don’t just go bad though, they’re a hunk of metal with water passages and fins.

For about 5 miles the A/C worked normally till we hit a R/R and the bump made it stop blowing cold air and he was finally convinced. Back to the shop and 30 min later they found the problem.
