What makes a Honda Foreman 450 No fire?

If you get no continuity or have continuity both directions,then your regulator is bad.the manuals don’t refer to this test as for troubleshooting a no fire to spark plug.beleive me, i’ve spent many hours checking everything the manuals refered to and this was the only thing causing the engine not to fire.i hope this info.

No spark! Hey ya’ll, shut off the Foreman last night and couldn’t get it started again. Checked and there is no spark, took off the ignition coil to get it tested at Honda. Any thoughts, advice or other issues it could potentially be?

Thanks guys! I have a 2001 Honda Foreman ES that started doing the same thing today (no oil in air chamber). Idles fine, sputters and dies if you give it gas. Gas is flowing fine to carb. What did you do to fix?

On the 450 it is a common thing. Improper valve clearance, faulty air cut off valve and of course everything you posted (air/fuel mixtures and exhaust/intake leaks) are the main causes. Some of the 450’s have always had it though when everything is perfect (or so it seems).

Other machines can do it as well but the design of the 450 seems to do it the best (and the 400 Foreman). My 450 is a 2002. When I rebuilt the top end it had a lot of carbon build up on the piston and valves. I cleaned the head and ground the valves.
