What is VVEL Nissan?
The letters VVEL are important to the architecture of Nissan engines. Those four letters stand for Variable Valve Event and Lift. What that refers to is a Nissan engine that operates without the use of a throttle body. Instead, the air flowing into the engine is metered by way of the cams and valves.
What is VVEL system?
Variable Valve Event and Lift (VVEL) is a system that allows the driver to control engine air intake by manipu- lating the accelerator pedal, much like the throttle valve does on typical cars.
How does variable valve lift work?
Its movement is driven by the camshaft via a series of components. VVEL varies valve lift by the eccentric control shaft inside the rocker arm. By rotating the eccentric control shaft, the position of rocker arm is shifted, changing the swing angle of cam. The swing angle of cam determines the degree of valve lift.
Who uses variable valve timing?
Honda pioneered road car-used VVT in the late 80s by launching its famous VTEC system (Valve Timing Electronic Control). First appeared in Civic, CRX and NS-X, then became standard in most models….1) Cam-Changing VVT.

How do I know if I have VVT?
VVT is Variable Valve Timing. You can tell if your motor has VVT by looking at the cover. You can see the camshaft phaser actuator on the top, and also a five pin harness at the bottom. If the motor does NOT have VVT, there will be no phaser, and the harness will be three pin.

What is Nissan Variable Valve Event and lift?
Nissan Variable Valve Event and Lift (commonly abbreviated as “VVEL”) is an automobile variable valve timing technology developed by Nissan . Nissan VK50VE Engine.
What are the benefits of a VVEL engine?
VVEL Engine Speed Engine Torque VV EL ngine rTorque is improved by optimized valve open-close movement, adjusted accordingly to engine revolutions 2-2-6.Benefits of VVEL –More Power Conventional Engine @At timing of ignition when air is being warmed and combustion is unstable, if valve lift amount is small, air flow velocity rises.
When did Nissan start using variable valve timing?
Nissan VVEL was first introduced to the US market in late-2007 on the 2008 Infiniti G37 Coupe sporting the new “VVEL” VQ37VHR engine (VQ37VHR motor specs: 11.0:1 CR, 95.5mm bore, 86mm stroke, 7500rpm redline). VVEL variable valve timing is also used in the VK50VE V8 engine from the Infiniti FX50.
