What is the Tok presentation?
Theory of knowledge (TOK) is assessed through an oral presentation and a 1,600 word essay. It asks students to reflect on the nature of knowledge, and on how we know what we claim to know. TOK is part of the International Baccalaureate® (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) core, and is mandatory for all students.

Your TOK score comes from two assessments, an in-class presentation (33%) and an externally scored essay (67%). The overall TOK score is averaged with your Extended Essay grade to determine how many bonus points you earn.

While pre-recorded inserts within a presentation are permissable, the presentation itself must be a live experience and not a recording of the presentation. - Choose a good Real Life Situation.
- Create a reasonable knowledge question that is not too easy but not too hard.
- Use TOK terminology throughout the entire presentation.
- DO NOT TALK ABOUT YOUR REAL LIFE EXAMPLE TOO MUCH.
- Include multiple perspectives.
What is a good TOK presentation score?
Generally, about a 22 is an A so to get an A you would need to score an 8 in the presentation and 7 in the essay or an 8 in the essay with a 6 in the presentation or the like to be able to get an A.
