What is inside a Qi charger?
A wireless charging pad has a coil that is usually made out of copper and is tightly wound. This is used as the medium to transfer the power out of this wireless charger. When a current is passed through the coil, it generates an alternating magnetic field.
Do Qi chargers have magnets?

Use a spudger or some other kind of flat tool you can pry under the padding with to loosen the adhesive and pry off. Pry gently as you don’t want to rip or tear this padding. NOTE: It is only held on with a sticky adhesive tape. For an original Samsung charger, there are no screws.
Will a wireless charger work if my charging port is broken?
A wireless charger will absolutely help unless it has nothing to do with the charging port located on the phone. Wireless charging will resolve the problem but charging might be slower with it.

How do you open a Samsung wireless charger?
Use your Jimmy tool to pry in between the two clear plastic layers. Try to keep the Jimmy’s tip pointed upwards as you push it into the Charging pad, and the rounded side down (Relative to the Qi logo). Now slide the jimmy up gently until it stops.
