What is dissipation test?
Dissipation tests measure the decay of pore water pressure over a specified amount of time. With the advancing CPT push, excess pore water pressure builds up around the cone tip, measured via the filter element. A dissipation test can be carried out during any CPTu sounding and does not require any additional set up.
What is CPTU testing?
A cone penetration test with pore water pressure measurement, or CPTU, is a static penetration test with water pressure measurement. In addition to friction resistance and friction on the sleeve, it is possible to measure the water pressure (CPTU) and collect data on seismic waves (SCPT).
