I have a 2000 Saab 9-3 Convertible. It has 70,000 miles on it. Last week I took it for it Emissions Testing. The tester said my Check Engine Light was on ( which it was not before I entered the garage!) The code was P1312 or Cylinder 1/2 misfire.

It secures the connector to the DIC and without it, the connector may come loose. I don’t know if you can just replace that red part.

P1312 and P1334 DTCs pertains to respectively cylinder bank 1+2 and 3+4, so the DIC is of course a suspect. P0340 is “Camshaft Position Sensor, malfunction”, however can be set by soothy spark plugs.
When did the p1312 error code come back?
I first threw a P1312 Error Code about 2 months ago. I pulled the DIC and re-gapped the plugs. I cleared the code, but it came back after about 1000 miles. I pulled out the DIC again checked all the gaps again, and reset the code (plugs were replaced about 6 months ago). Again the check engine light came on in about 1000 miles.
