Why does my Polaris Ranger keep turning over?
As the fuel level in the bowl fills up the float pushes a needle valve up into a seat to cut the flow of fuel off. Once fuel is used up the float falls and lets more fuel in. It sounds like you have gotten some trash in your fuel. It would only take a very small piece to keep the needle open.

Turn on key and ‘silence’. It will occasionally start, allow me to get a block or 2 from the house,then the gear selector lights go out, and the engine dies immediately. I’m tired of towing it back to the house.

When acceleration is applied it staggers and farts, until you let off the throttle, then it will run fine at an even RPMs until accelerator is pushed. It will always start right up if it dies and will idle. And run when stopped, in neutral or in gear and rolling. I’m wondering too .. is there a governor that keeps RPM’s down for over reving?
Where are the wires on a Polaris Ranger?
Check the wires at your crank position sensor. The sensor should be on the right rear side of the engine. Pull on the wires at the plug to see if the wires are broken inside the insulation. I have found more than one wire broken at different plugs.
