Are there any problems with the Artic cat automatic transmission?
I look it up and supposedly the artic cat automatic transmission is bullet proof. wtf. What do I do. I even called the dealer and told them about it and they said in the 7 years of selling them have never seen them fail. Not even once. Do you guys think a rear diff failling could cause this. What causes reverse shift on Artic cat ATV?
Shifting from the high and low as well as reverse are done by forks moving collars on shafts, maybe there is a collar or fork failure and that should result in no noises as well as normal reverse operation. How can I tell if my Arctic Cat 400 has no spark?
If the battery is calling for power and the alternaotr is on and the rectifier is not working, the power goes to ground. Check the voltage at the battery with the machine running. You should have 12 or more volts – preferably around 14. Find the rectifier – it will be a cube with cooling fins on it. With a self powered test light, test it.

Buddy of mine had alot of problems with his 2002 400 Cat. Same symptoms. Replaced Stator, regulator, cdi, plug, wire….still same results. Turns out the spark regulator was a bit off and too far from pickup in stator housing. Slight adjustment fixed everything. something stupid and simple.
