What happens if the O2 sensor test is incomplete?
I’m asking if an incomplete O2 monitor test would prevent a code being generated for a bad O2 sensor, which in turn could be preventing the O2 sensor test from completing. Kinda like a catch 22. I sincerely XXXXX XXXXX the delay. We are having MAJOR MAJOR site problems today, which is setting my page-load time at about 5min / page.
Can a O2 sensor monitor set a p-code?
Monitors are for “p-codes” only. If there is an O2 sensor problem, it WILL set a code, whether or not the monitor is not-ready or ready (and if it’s Not Ready, it won’t be, and i it is/was ready, it’s not anymore). When to reset the ECU after changing an O2 sensor?
Sometimes an O2 sensor fails, and you need to replace it. Once you’ve replaced your vehicle’s O2 sensor, you’ll need to reset the ECU so it can properly gather information from the new O2 sensor.
Can a headlights affect the O2 sensor monitor?
No, having the headlights on should not effect the O2 monitor for setting. Since the O2 Sensor Heater Monitor completed, I’m confident I did the idle part of the cycle properly. I’ll try again tonight and let you know the outcome. The EVAP is usually the hardest to set on these vehicles. Try the drive cycle I provided above.

When to replace your car’s O2 sensor?
If your vehicle’s O2 sensor is faulty, chances are there will be signs! Check this list to see if it’s time to replace YOUR vehicle’s oxygen sensors: Sudden decrease in fuel mileage. A defective O2 sensor will likely cause your air-fuel mixture to be too rich and directly affect your fuel economy.
