What does transmission oil cooler do?
The transmission oil cooler hose on a car helps to carry the transmission fluid from the transmission to the transmission cooler. The oil cooler is designed to lower the temperature of the transmission fluid to make it easier for the internal parts of the transmission to use.

Will go with the Denso unit, only $140 CAD versus the OEM which is $440 at the dealer or $350 on ebay. There is a great youtube tutorial by “Motorcity Mechanic” which details the whole process on a 2011 GC, which has been very helpful.

The ac condenser / tranny cooler has been leaking for a few weeks at 80k miles on my 2011 WK2 Laredo. Not bad… but drips a few spots on the driveway about every two weeks after cleaning up the skid plate. Coming from the drivers side as most folks mention.

How does a transmission cooler connect to an aftermarket transmission?
For most vehicles you will use an Insta-dapt fitting that is included with the transmission cooler and that connects directly to the OEM transmission cooler. Then the rubber hose going to the aftermarket transmission cooler is clamped to the fitting, and the hose coming from it is slipped over the original line and clamped.
