It’s a Honda Civic that runs on compressed natural gas (CNG). In fact, it’s the only factory-built CNG car in the country available to nonfleet customers.

Along with the distinctive diamond CNG label, 1998-2011 Civic GX vehicles have a NGV (Natural Gas Vehicle) label on the lower left and right rear doors. The 2012 model has an emblem on the right rear of the vehicle, just above the diamond CNG label.

How much does a CNG filter cost on a Honda GX?
On the 2006 and newer Civic GX, the low pressure CNG filter is much more expensive, $253.80 at Majestic Honda which is 30% off retail price. I’m not sure why a fuel filter cost so much, but changing it every 10-15k miles will eat up a lot of the maintenance savings typically afforded by natural gas combustion.
