What causes the temp gauge to go to zero?
Car cold, ignition on, you would expect (given your most recent experience) to see the gauge at half. Unplug the sensor, gauge will go to zero with a bad sensor. Same problem today, car starts witht he needle at half, then warms up and pegs out.

What should I do if my temperature gauge keeps going cold?
