Click to expand… anything is possible. but the leak in the rear sam is a well known problem with the w164. its because of the tail lamp seal failing, the more with an accident on that side. did it rain before or after the collision? washing the ml with a gap or failed tail lamp seal can cause water to go in aswell.

Where is the rear Sam on a Mercedes ML?
ML has rear sam on right side. Water can therefore enter there on a ML, and from the rear light seal if rear light has been replaced and seals were duff and not replaced, and also a bad boot door seal can let water in too.
