What causes a Kia Grand Carnival to overheat?
As well as the standard fans, thermostat, radiator and head gasket a couple of other things that can cause overheating. Blocked EGR. (I believe that these were 3.8L CVVT which has no EGR)
How old should a Kia Grand Carnival radiator be?
In summary, the car is a bit old now, so that means that many ‘consumables’ are due for replacing. It just might be the entire radiator – that’s due for replacement now anyway. These definitely are not made to last longer than 9 years. Often they fail, taking the whole engine down with them at the same time. It doesn’t have to be that way.
What did auto electrician say about Kia Grand Carnival?
Took it to the auto electrician who spent a few hours looking at it and said the fans seem to be okay he says they are running fine with the aircon going they run really fast and when the aircon isn’t going the fans come on and off but don’t run terribly fast but he said as it has variable control fans thinks it could be normal.
Is the Kia Grand Carnival covered by Awn?
As we also purchased an AWN warranty with the vehicle I decided to take the car to an AWN approved mechanic in case any repairs I may be able to get covered by AWN. The mechanic could see some of the radiator tubes were clogged so sent the radiator for testing which they found the radiator to be 80% blocked.
