No… DONOT mix synthetic will regular brake fluid. It will turn to sludge and the synthetic will deteriorate the seals if the rubber is not rated for that fluid. Im not going to mix it, im going to drain the regular fluid completely out and use synthetic brake fluid instead.

What to do if you lose brake fluid?
I would try to cap off the brake line at the body as best you can while you are switching out brake lines. Then, connect the new brake line to the caliper first then to the steel brake line at the body. Hopefully this will help minimize the amount of fluid that is lost.
