Scott Robinson (Torrance, CA) took in my car, and automatically assumed the problem was the one part covered under an “extended warranty”. They diagnosed that the part was indeed the cause, they assumed it would be covered by the warranty. They did the job and apparently called the warranty department and got the OK to cover the repair.

I had my 2006 CRV with 69k miles, was just serviced by the Honda dealer a few weeks ago, including an AC check. The compressor went out two days ago and the estimate is $3,500. Is the CV joint on my Honda CRV broken?
2011 Honda CRV with 98441 miles on it. CV joint broke on rear passenger side. No part available in USA. Had to go off market for part. Honda service repair was surprised that I could drive to the shop. The report card from Honda indicated that every thing else was satisfactory otherwise on the CRV.
Why did my Honda CRV CV go bad?
Not sure why you would lose trust in a brand because one of the vehicles had an issue after eight or nine years and 100K miles. Sorry the CV went bad. CVs go bad all the time. All it takes is some road debris to hit the boot. That tears it, the grease exits and grit gets in, and there goes the joint. That’s not the car maker’s fault.
What should I expect from a Honda CRV?
A reminder, maintenance is much more than engine oil changes. Hopefully you will get documentation of ATF and brake fluid replacements as well as filters. Anything not done should be performed by you (if you buy the car) and purchase allowance given.
Is the Honda CRV reliable after 200, 000 miles?
If the car was maintained properly, I’d be surprised to see any of the engine issues that you list before 200,000 miles. Honda builds solid engines. On the other hand, Honda’s automatic transmissions weren’t particularly great in the early 2000s, so possibly that could be on the horizon for you.
