What are the p2762 and p2764 torque converter codes?
Hi everyone. I have a 2011 Subaru outback and have been getting the codes P2762 and P2764 which seems to indicate that because I am getting both codes that the Torque Converter Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid Control Circuit is bad.
What does the p2762 code on a car mean?
What the P2762 code means. The code means that the powertrain control module has found something wrong in the torque converter clutch pressure control solenoid circuit. The vehicle’s computer controls the automatic transmission, and uses different degrees of the torque converter clutch to improve the engine power and the fuel efficiency.
How does duty cycle work on Subaru p2762?
The lock-up solenoid receives a “duty cycle” command from the transmission control module (TCM computer) to open and close the oil passage to allow or disallow pressurized transmission fluid into the clutch mechanism. The duty cycle ranges from 0% oil flow to 100% oil flow for full clutch engagement.
What’s the difference between lock up duty and primary down solenoids?
The Lockup Duty, Primary Up and Primary Down solenoids are all normally closed solenoids. These solenoids are fully interchangeable, all you have to do is solder the power wire for solenoid control. The Lockup Duty, Primary Up and Primary Down solenoids are also fully interchangeable between gen 1 and gen 2.
Where is the p2762 code on a torque converter clutch?
If the P2762 code returns, you may want to check the resistance of the TCC pressure control solenoid. With the ignition switch in the off position, disconnect the electrical connector at the pressure control solenoid. Locate the 2 pins that go to the pressure control solenoid.

When does TCC pressure control code p2762 set?
Code P2762 will set when the current flow applied by the TCM to the TCC pressure control solenoid does not match what is being measured by the TCM. What are the common causes of code P2762? Wiring to the TCC Pressure Control Solenoid – open or shorted What are the symptoms of code P2762? Transmission won’t shift – usually stuck in 2 nd or 3 rd gear
