Should I disconnect my motorcycle battery when not in use?
The thing is, when not used it might discharge and get damaged. Not something that would harm anything outside, only won’t hold charge that good. However if it’s just few months and bike won’t sit in harsh negative temps, just disconnect the battery, charge it and everything will be fine and no damage should occur.
Is it bad to jumpstart a motorcycle?
Manufacturers do not recommend attempting to jump start a motorcycle battery from a car. The reason is that car batteries are much larger and have a much higher amperage (more power) and can damage a motorcycle battery. Life doesn’t always cooperate, however, and you may find yourself with little alternative.
Is it safe to store a motorcycle battery in the house?
Doing this opens up the circuit and will essentially stop voltage loss in the short term. Overachievers, though, usually unhook both posts and remove the battery from the bike. Some will store it in the house, others will insist that the risk of hydrogen gas is too high so they’ll leave it in the garage or shed.
How did my bike just die on Me?
I was on my way to work today when my bike just died on me. As I pulled away from a trafic light there was a splutter of rev’s and a loss of power. I kicked it into neutral and the bike continued to splutter for about 5 seconds and then stopped running.

If this is clogged with soot, the bike could lose much of its usual power. You can clean the exhaust yourself quite easily. 6. A lack of general maintenance, among other reasons, will also cause your bike’s performance to decrease and make it lose power.
What did my bike die at a red light?
When I got off the highway and stoped at a red light it died while idling. Again I ran and popped it in first gear and got it started. Made it home. What causes a motorcycle battery to drain while running?
When a stator has gone bad, that means the motorcycle is running off of battery power alone which will quickly drain it. Batteries were not made to power the bike while it’s running, only mainly to get it started.

What causes a bike to die while riding?
The battery is providing power but not receiving enough in from the charging system, and eventually the bike dies. You may still have enough to fire up the lights, but it takes a lot more to run the bike and especially to turn the starter over. First thing to check is connections, then rectifier, regulator, then stator.
