Is this a good question? Gregory Peris, just like previously mentioned, it sounds more like a Speed sensor or a Cluster issue to me. If your odometer would be out as well, it might be different. To remove the speed sensor disconnect the coupler, remove the holding bolt and twist the sensor out. straight forward job.

Go to KIA spend $200 bucks for it, grab a long extension with a swivel on the end and a 10 mm ( I think…it’s been almost a year ( the sensor sits on the top of the transmission and is kinda hard to get to.

2006 kia spectra speedometer not working. Try this, I just did it and it worked. Disconnect both battery cables and touch them together for about 3 seconds, then connect them back to the battery. This causes the main computer to re-load all computer programs. It worked on my kia, speedometer now working.
