Is the Triumph TT600 sports bike a good bike?
Now in my 3rd year and having completed over 8k on it, the Triumph TT600 has performed prefectly. Few minor points early on, battery (alarm fitted) and seem to use pads quickly. Otherwise very happy. Pillioned up she doesn’t handle half bad, although need to yank on brakes bit harder. Handles well and can get a move on when ya need it.
Why does oil drip from the kicktand on a triumph?

What was the pre 2001 Triumph TT600 like?
Pre-2001 Triumph TT600 models suffered a marked lack of power low down and too much throttle hesitancy. After tweaks, there was considerable improvement but, alas, the Triumph TT600 already had “a reputation” by then. Higher up, things are different, with plenty of usable welly.
Can a Triumph TT600 Daytona still be used?
Both the TT600 and the Daytona can suffer from this old Triumph foible. If the bike’s been stood for some time, then you have to get the bike through three heat cycles. Fire it up and run the bike until the fan cuts in. Switch off and repeat a further three times. The light should now go out. If the light is still on, contact a dealer.
What was the problem with the original TT?
The original TT’s biggest failing was that engine. It was gutless lowdown, lacklustre in the midrange and although there was a top end to play with, compared to the likes of Yamaha’s whirling dervish R6 and Suzuki’s rampaging GSX-R600 it was flat to say the least.
