Are there any issues with the 2014 KTM Super Twins?
There have been some issues with the 2014 model. Not sure all of them were resolved with later models. Some bikes had a leaky gas tank which was repaired or replaced under warranty. My tank was replaced because it had developed a slow leak. Fixed for later models. Some bikes had slightly loose rear wheels. I know some were repaired, but not all.
What kind of suspension does the KTM YZ125 use?
The YZ125 has used the same Kayaba SSS suspension components since before the iPhone was invented. The only thing that’s changed over the years has been a shim here and there, a spring rate now and then, and a valving tweak on a blue moon. As for KTM, the WP suspension has been its Achilles heel since 1999.
Are there any problems with my KTM 1290?
I have no plans to sell my 1290. Love it despite the hiccups. The rest of the bike has been rock solid for me. I have a ’14 model made December 2013. Here’s a list of problems I’ve had fixed under warranty. Not in any date order: 1. Rear hub and bearings replaced. 2. New speedo due to moisture getting inside. This sent the unit crazy.

What’s the difference between a KTM 125 and 250?
As with the 125, the 250’s shock shaft is changed to flow oil differently, since WP continues to try to keep the two pistons in the shock working separately. Ideally, the second piston should be effective only late in the shock stroke.

Which is better a KTM 04 or 04?
The ’04 had much better manners, but KTM still felt it was a good idea to add a heavier crank and boost the compression. Even the two-ring piston—which should extend ring life—is intended to make the bike easier to ride. This latest-generation engine specification also required different carburetor jetting.
