For a 2005 the Mazda MPV is a solid vehicle and offers amenities that are still appreciated today. (update) Had the baby already and she is in the middle row most of the time. The van has been in the shop a couple of times fairly recently. The first was the uhaul wiring that caused the van to not start (fuse went out).

We purchased our 2005 Mazda MPV LX in November of 2005 and have not had any problems. It takes regular gas and can haul 7 people – plus it gets 25 MPG on the highway. The only thing that broke was the after-market DVD player, which broke after 2 years. The vehicle drives like a boat, and that’s okay. It’s not a sports car! The gas mileage was not great (about 20-22 MPG). So when gas was around $4/gallon it cost over $40 ti fill it up. Its big and comfortable and I thought it was a safe car.
