Is it hard to change a hood?
Removing a hood isn’t difficult, per se. The steps are simple. But having a helper around does make it easier to lift. And that’s how you remove a hood from a vehicle.
Can you unbend a hood?
If the car hood has completely buckled, you may not be able to fix it unless you are a mechanic. However, if the hood is bent from daily wear and tear (from sitting on it, for example), you can hammer out minor dents.

Is there a way to align the hood?
There is a bump in the firewall that helps align the hood hinge. You may need to remove this bump to allow the hinge to lower. If you remove this bump, you may also need to slightly ream the hinge holes in the cowl and possibly the inner hood-hinge holes as well.

The reproduction springs are built to factory specs and often fail to solve the problem long term. Although I know a few guys that claim new springs fixed their problem and never had issues again.
