If you are going 20mph you should never be in 5th gear. Could you do it, yes you could, but the engine won’t be happy and may stall. As you drive you should upshift through all 5 gears as you accelerate and downshift through all of the gears back down to 1st as you decelerate. You will be wasting enormous fuel.
