Yes! You are allowed to camp in the lean-tos at Harriman State Park. The other campsites — Beaver Pond, Cedar Pond and Tiorati Plateau, as well as the cabin camps, are closed by mid-October and won’t open until April.

Look for the little encircled “P”. Some spots are roadside pullouts. Some are parking lots. Other parking areas — Lake Welch, Silvermine and Bear Mountain, for example — charge an $8.00 fee in the summer, but not in winter.
Can you swim in Pine Meadow Lake?
Pine Meadow, tucked back off Seven Lakes Parkway, attracts a steady stream of visitors in the warm weather because it’s a relatively easy hike from the Reeves Meadow Visitor Center. Swimming is prohibited but that doesn’t stop people from diving off the rocks that ring the shoreline.
