Is aerial silks good exercise?
Aerial silks classes provide a great workout that will strengthen muscles that might be difficult to focus on in traditional workouts. It is recommended that poses be held for about thirty seconds to increase muscle gain.
Is aerial silk hard?
Learning aerials is incredibly hard. A skilled aerialist will make everything they do look easy–that’s their job. However that can make it confusing for you the student, because everything feels hard. That’s just how it is.
Can kids use aerial silks?
Age 6-12. Kids will learn over 150 different moves on the Silks, Hoop, and Still Trapeze. Students advance at their own pace, some students can be in Level 1 for a couple of years, some for only a couple of months. It all depends on their movement background, their maturity, and the frequency of their attendance.
Is there a weight limit for aerial silks?
The silks themselves have a breaking strength of around 3,000 pounds. So no, there is no “weight limit” on our classes. Being heavier may make certain elements of the experience different, but our instructors are trained in how to accomodate bigger bodied students in a supportive, body-positive environment.

Fabric width is between 108-110 inches wide. Fabric length is between 21-22 feet after attached to the Figure 8, or about 42-44 feet (14-15 yards) as one long strand.
Can adults learn aerial silks?

How old do you have to be to aerial dance?
For our regular weekly classes, anyone 16 years and over is welcome at our classes and there are no height limitations. If you’re under 16, we do have a range of classes and workshops just for you.
