How to test for leaks at the Y74 pressure control valve?
Today I tried the test for leaks at the Y74 pressure control valve on the end of the fuel rail. The test calls for connecting a fuel line where the leak off line normally connects to (fuel rail return connection). Then to check if fuel is emitted form this new temporary hose. Also the larger fuel tank return line is clamped.

There is a relative compression test available using the wiTECH scan tool. Acceptable values between two cylinders must be equal to or less than 15 rpm. Restricted or aerated fuel supply to the high pressure pump. Actual versus desired too far apart, map the fuel pressure graph, if you have a fluctuation over 500 psi this may cause a surge.
