How to start an E85 in cold weather?
When I was looking for information about starting on E85 in cold climates, the vast majority of people claimed that you had to simply increase your injector pulse-width while cranking by 30% which is absolutely false. I tried this and it just left me scratching my head as to why my car wouldn’t start nicely.

How can I tell if my 280SL is running?
The first thing to do is check your linkages. Make sure the linkage going down to the injection pump is completly relaxed at idle. It should just fall on to the top ball without moving the pump lever. If that’s good then I would suspect the automatic choke on top of the pump. That’s the device with the two water hoses going to it.
What should I do with my 69 280SL?
69 280sl: rich..adjusting..the screw on the back of the injection pump… got a 69 280sl thats… got a 69 280sl thats is running really rich. adjusting the screw on the back of the injection pump does not help much. i am at 9.5% CO, and 600-700 ppm HC. any ideas? i think i am going to pull the injectors and check the spray.
