How to know if your Honda Pilot has a TPMS light?
If you can’t get to a tire shop with a TMPS code reader, swap a tire with a good sensor to RR, try the drop pressure test, should tell you if its the sensor or the transmitter. Click to expand… Awesome idea. I should’ve thought of that. Thanks!
How often does TPMS work on a Honda Accord?
TPMS does have some benefits: There are two types of warnings that come with most tire pressure monitoring systems: Honda owners have been experiencing that 2nd issue – a lot. Some say it happens as often as every couple hundred miles, while others say the warning light stays on indefinitely until a mechanic is seen.
Why is my TPMS light not coming on?
Hats off to Merson Automotive for standing behind their work and making good. For the past three days, the orange TPMS had been coming on after driving about 10 minutes. So not a low tire, but a problem with the system, either transmitter or receiver, most probably.
Do you need TPMs to check tire pressure?
While it’s nice to have quick access to the current PSI readings of your tires from the comfort of your driver’s seat, some manufacturers (hello, Honda!) have a history of TPMS problems that turn the system into more of a headache than just getting out of your car and checking the tire pressure yourself.
How often does Honda TPMS warning light come on?
“Since then, the TPMS light has illuminated approximately every 700 miles. Currently, car has 3400 miles and the light has illuminated again (the fourth time). On every occasion, all the tire pressures were within 1 lb. psi of normal.” – pylit, Waxhaw, NC Honda owners, rejoice!

What does TPMS stand for in a car?
Software upgrades outlined in TSB #14-006 have succesfully fixed the problem for many owners. TPMS, or tire pressure monitoring systems, are a mildly controversial feature of some modern cars.
When did TPMS become mandatory on all tires?
It would appear that tire dealers in NY aren’t keeping up with the times. TPMS has been mandatory on all vehicles since the 2008 model year and was becoming increasingly popular for a few years before that, so a tire dealer that can’t spend $1200 on a simple scanner is really not providing a complete service to his customer.
When does the low pressure light come on?
The light goes on when the pressure goes below 24 psi. After getting the light to come on, I refilled the tire and moved on to the next wheel. Sure enough, the last wheel I tested (right rear), I let the pressure out to 20 psi and the low pressure light didn’t come on.
