Why is the fuel filter on my Kawasaki Mule Red?
Generally speaking, the filter gets dirty from debris in the fuel (dirt, etc) and then the pump itself starves for fuel, which also lubricates and cools the pump and it’s drive motor. 100% of the time if that is the case, the filter turns black or dark gray or red if your dirt is red like ours is.
What are the problems with a Kawasaki MULE?
3 common problems with them. (1) fuel pumps, (2) harnesses, and (3) throttle bodies. Number (1). The fuel pumps themselves don’t generally die IF the fuel is clean and free of debris.
Where is the CCV vent on a Kawasaki MULE?
Also on that subject, Kawasaki recommends re-routing the CCV (closed crankcase vent) hose to a different location. They have a kit for it, ask your dealer for it. The 2013 and newer models had it done from the factory.
Are there any problems with the Kawasaki MULE 4010?
Yes fuel pumps have been problematic but the 2012 and newer pumps have addressed many of the issues. Mainly the pressure relief valve and fuel filter. It is impossible to get an “old style” pump…the part numbers have been superceded to the new style. Might pick up a service manual too.

What makes the DFI light come on but not the engine?
If 1 is fouled, that cylinder is where the problem is. Check for spark on each cylinder, If one has no spark, replace the coil (there are 2). Replace only the bad one.
Why does my Kawasaki MULE have bad idling?
At least compared to a new throttle body assembly. Lastly, tight intake valves will ALSO cause some reversion in the intake manifold, which “confuses” the intake pressure sensor, and therefore causes poor running, specifically idling.
