PLTW stands for Project Lead The Way. PLTW pathways in computer science, engineering, and biomedical science engage students in hands-on activities, projects, and problems; empower them to solve real-world challenges; and inspire them to re-imagine how they see themselves.
What is a PLTW distinguished school?
The PLTW Distinguished District recognition is a one-year designation that emphasizes K-12 student engagement. To receive this designation, a district must have 20 percent or more of the students in each grade, K-12, participate in a PLTW program during the previous school year.
Is PLTW a college course?
PLTW classes are nationally standardized project-based courses that prepare students for college-level work and culminate with a student assessment, which colleges and universities can use to determine if a student earns college credit.
