That will give you something to worry about whenyour stuck in traffic and you see your oil temp rise to 300.

Click to expand… A buddy of mine had the same problem on his 08 ultra, he took it back 3 times. Then finally told them to take it out. He later discovered the install was wrong, by reading something on HD’s web. Now you would think the dealer would have picked up on this. I believe it a bullitin some where. I will ask him again.

I have a 2004 FLHTC that I ride on a regual basis. I have been having a issue with the oil temp gauge. It constantly reads 230 degrees! The temperature does start below 100 degree’s but continues to that exact spot. The temp sensor is in the oil pain and not inline with the oil cooler, What can I do to make the temperature read right on the gauge?

I switched to full synthetic and the temp is around 200-210 in 90 degree weather, but it usually runs anywhere from 180 (winter) to 210 (summer) but it depends on the traffic, weather (windy days it always cooler), etc… I bought one of those analog thermometers dipsticks and can glance down while sitting at a redlight and see what the temp is.
