How do you use a Decalc Philips steam iron?
Easy De-Calc Function
- Unplug and let it cool completely — at least 2 hours.
- Place the steam generator at the edge of a table or sink. Hold a cup (at least 350 ml) under the EASY DE-CALC knob.
- Remove the knob.
- Put the knob back in place and turn clockwise to tighten.
- You are now ready to keep ironing!
Why does my steam iron not work?
There may not be enough water left in the tank. Your iron needs to get hot enough to turn water into steam. Give your iron a few minutes to heat up before using it. Check your user manual and make sure that you’re using your iron at a temperature setting that is hot enough for the steam function.

- Shake the iron gently back and forth until empty.
- Heat the iron and glide over a cloth to clean the soleplate.
